New Day School is a dynamic non-profit education center offering a Neo-Humanist education. Neo-Humanism is an educational philosophy built on the foundation of the ancient practices of yoga and meditation, which promotes the ideals of inner exploration, courage, service, compassion towards all, ethical values and sustainable practices. We are dedicated to the holistic development of the mind, body, heart and spirit, through the cultivation of creativity, intellectual faculties, ethical values and intuition of the children and teachers. Our curriculum is based on these very principles of Neo-Humanist Education (http://nhe.gurukul.edu/)
We have been Located in the southeast Portland neighborhood since 1979 and currently serve more than a hundred children ages two and a half to eight years from across the Portland Metropolitan area. We are a community that serves a diverse population. We offer a full day program with varying schedule options, operate on sliding scale, and promote community involvement with parents through a parent work program
New Day School is a state licensed childcare center and offers full day preschool & kindergarten programs, serving children 2 ½-7 years of age. Before and after care are included in a monthly tuition, making our program unique, in it’s accessibility to working families.
New Day School is open 7:30am-5:30pm Monday through Friday with two, three, four and five day schedule options. We do not offer half-day schedules.
